Anaweza is made possible through the dedication of a few passionate individuals who have a vision for a healthier life for the children of Masaka and their families.

Julius Kiwanuka Mulwanyi (Administrative Director)

Julius was born in Mukono District in Kitingoma Village. He has training in motor mechanics, baking, brick laying, and gardening. Julius moved to Masaka in 1996 and first worked as a cook and watchman in a school and later joined Child Restoration Outreach (CRO) in 2004 as a day guard. In 2005 Julius went back to school and proudly completed his O Levels, an accomplishment after having originally dropped out of school at age 14. All along he knew that he wanted to start his own community organization one day, and in 2009 that finally became a reality with Anaweza. He know serves as Director and also helps his wife run their tea room and shop, a place of gathering in his community. They live with their four beautiful daughters.

Omega Ly Brazillian (Football Coach)

Omega is originally from Kampala but now resides in Masaka. He studied at Uganda Martyrs University and is a professional college football coach during the school year.

He has coached at Anaweza for many years and continues to be passionate about building advanced football skills with the children and teenagers at Anaweza. Omega currently spends school holidays coaching the football teams at Anaweza.

Joseph Mulindwa (Casual Program Manager)

Joseph was born in Masaka. After completing S2 in school he worked in a number of roles including builder, baker in Kampala for 10 years, caterer at Children Restoration Outreach (CRO), and even made and sold yoghurt with Julius for some time. In 2011 he went to Kenya for 1 year to train in solar panel installation and biogas systems and when he returned he joined Julius at Anaweza and began his work as teacher and supervisor there. He feels strongly about the organization because of his belief that it has great potential to stop the prevalance of street children by giving vulnerable children training. Joseph is most passionate about encouraging, counselling, and empowering children so that they can have the best futures possible. He lives with his wife who is a nursery school teacher. Joseph is currently a casual member of the Anaweza team and helps when he is available.
